At Iron Works Models we want to make this a modelers web store. If you don’t see items that you need please send us an e-mail for your request. With request for special items let us check with our distributors and other sources for availability and we’ll get it to you as soon as possible. If you have paint colors that you use regularly let us know, we plan to have a full line of paint available as soon as possible.

If your interests are in certain types of aircraft by a particular manufacturer let us know. If you have finishing products that you regularly use or are hard to find let us know. We plan on having items (Mr. Surfacer, Tamiya Compound, sandpaper, etc. at a reasonable price) that I’ve found hard to find as a professional modeler available as much as we can. Having items in our inventory to make it a convenient one-stop shop is our long-term goal.

We will be rapidly expanding our inventory over time. We want your feedback to build a site that you’ll want to come to time again because we have the best service, prices, kits and materials your looking for. Keep checking back to see new items that are available.

Payments/Sales Tax

A sales tax of 6.25% will be charged to Texas residents. We currently accept Visa, MasterCard, and PayPal.

Shipping and Handling

At Iron Works Models the charges for shipping and handling was paramount in the building process. Ground (3-5 day), Priority (2-3 day), and Express (next day) options are available for you to choose how fast you get your purchases.  We carefully considered how to structure shipping-related charges for your order. Our weight charges go all the way down to less than half a pound. $2 shipping allows you to buy decals and other items, send them USPS Ground (lower 48), and avoid being charged high rates. These rates cover United States Priority Mail, USPS Ground, and Express Mail within the 48 states.  Rates outside the 48 states will be adjusted for pricing. 

Order up to 5 sheets of decals for $2 (USPS Ground)! So, when you find the decal sheet you want, select the USPS Ground option. Your decals will come in a reinforced envelope to avoid bending. This would cover decals, sandpaper, and small tools. If I can fit in an envelope and it weighs less than half a pound I’ll ship it for $2!

If you would like to place an order by e-mail and pay by cashiers check or money order send us the request. We won't be accepting personal check due to privacy issues. The only thing we ask is to receive the funds within 5 business days because we're going to have your order waiting for shipment. Once we receive the funds for your order we'll ship it the next business day.

We feel that shipping and handling charges are a hot topic among the modeling community and we are going to make sure after you place your order you feel like you received a fair deal. Every effort is made to provide great prices, excellent service and inexpensive shipping. If you’re looking for speed and service we’re your first stop model shop.

International Shipping

Iron Works Models is now shipping Internationally!  Please contact us by e-mail to recieve a shipping quote to your country.  Include the items that you would like to purchase and your address and we'll get back to promptly.  Due to the complexity of international shipping, we will need to quote them on an order by order basis.  Our system will not calulate international shipping at this time.  We will be upgrading to a better shipping system in the near future.

Special Orders and Request

Special orders will be charged additional shipping unless processed with a regular order. Being purchased with regular orders is likely and shipping will be at normal rates to your address. However some items may not be found through our distributors every effort will be made to fill your request. Special request will be paid for in full before the order is placed, we will attempt to locate the product before you pay. These orders may take a week or so to be received, but will be shipped as soon as they are received into our inventory. Request will be taken to expand the inventory over time. The more popular request in the expansion of inventory will of course be taken in timely basis.

Backorders

We don't have back orders because most of the time what you see is what we have available. We will make every effort to update the site several times a day to ensure what you see is what we have. If we don't have an item that you've put in your basket it will not show up in the final process of your product purchase. Out of stock items won't be charged to your order then placed on backorder holding up the rest of the items you want. Keep checking back to see new items availablity.
